Biography

Prof. Dr. Arief Hidayat, S.H., M.S. is a prominent Indonesian constitutional law expert who served as a Constitutional Court Justice for 13 years (2013–2026) and as its Chief Justice from 2015 to 2018, bringing deep expertise in Constitutional Law, Environmental Law, and Pancasila Jurisprudence. Throughout his career, he has accumulated extensive professional experience, including serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Diponegoro University, heading the Central Java Association of Constitutional Law Lecturers, and presiding as President of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts (AACC). After officially retiring from the bench on February 3, 2026, he continues his academic legacy as a Professor at Diponegoro University and was recently honored as an Emeritus Professor at Borobudur University.
